The Importance of the Science of Reading

June 23, 2023

EKCO partnered with public and private school parents, teachers, reading therapists, community partners, and administrators to dive into the Science of Reading. Through this journey, we learned more about what it is, what happens when students are taught this way, and the devastation that occurs when they're not. We also heard first-hand why it's so important to train our Oklahoma teachers in this way and the positive impact it makes when we do. We invite you to take a few minutes and learn more about why the Science of Reading is so important.

Is your child struggling to read? Want to learn more about what to do next? Check out this blog post or reach out to our Parent Services team directly.

Special thanks to Payne Education Center, the Academic Language Therapy Association - Oklahoma Chapter, and John Rex Charter School, as well as our parents and grant partners, who shared their expertise, time, stories, and resources for this project.
